Llyf, Group Exhibition - Stiwdio Griffith

Swansea College of Art: 8-22 March 2024

'Ilyf - derived from the term 'iteration’. The exhibition explores experimental approaches to photographic image making - through book production, sculpture, installation, performance and site specific intervention. Artists Tamsin Green, Gareth Phillips and Folium will expand their respective process-led practices out into the gallery environment and explore the potential of Stiwdio Griffiths as a 'site' for the production of new work.

The exhibition will be open from 8th March and culminate in a 'closing event' on Friday 22nd March, where the artists will discuss a range of subjects and processes with Swansea College of Art staff Ryan Moule, Estefani Bouza and Joe Coleman.

I'll be showing the new collection of pieces Becoming Lichenised (2024). The work explores circularity through the use of by-products and left-over prints from the making of the book walking out of sleep: encounters with lichen territory.  I’ll be doing a mini residency at the gallery at the end of February to develop the work towards installation.

This years PHOTO50 exhibition is curated by Revolv Collective and brings together works by early and mid-career artists who explore the subject of labour and its diverse representations within the context of the land. In the exhibition, labour will be contextualised from a variety of positions to question our understanding and engagement with the land as a site of work, resistance, action, co-dependence, regeneration and communion.

I will be exhibiting a new piece from the body of work this is how the earth must see itself: a walk with natural features (2019-21).
